Amidst it all ...

I had been amidst it all, all day ... came home and crashed with exhaustion - but it was a peaceful exhaustion. I had survived some of the toughest critics on this planet - young teenagers!, and the all day workshop teaching kids photography was a success. They even wanted to go out in the rain to do the outdoor shoot ... and then didn't want to come back inside - although it was cold, wet and miserable. They were excited and happy; I was relieved and thrilled.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that the opportunity to design and deliver this workshop crossed my path. The invitation came from "The Makers Loft", a cafe with craft centre onsite. When I met with the owners of the Maker's Loft, it was like a meeting on the minds - I instantly loved the feeling of creativity that was in the air.

Throughout the day there were moments when I just let the energy of the room wash all over me. It made me acutely aware of how much the last few months have drained me. I desperately needed to replenish my own stores of energy by being surrounded by an energy of enthusiasm, learning and curiosity. Being in that space, sharing my knowledge revived me. I was not surprised that I almost instantly fell asleep for a few hours when I came home.

Sleep is one of the most powerful healing tools that we all have available to us. I needed that time to let my body make the most of gifts it had been given though out the day. Today I truly lived in the now, being well.

Flying Solo Tip 008365 : Find moments in the day to simply absorb the energy that sustains you, replenish your own stores of creativity and curiosity and the world will appear brighter.
